Old English leþer, from Proto-Germanic *leþran (cf. West Frisian [[leare#Patrono:Fy|leare]], Dutch/German leder, Swedish läder), from Patrono:Cel-gau[[Category:Patrono:Cel-gau derivations|Leather]] *letrom (cf.
